Coloring eggs: my two-year-old was enthralled!
Matching clothes: DISCLAIMER - THIS IS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS! Several times through my childhood, my mother would sew matching dresses for herself and her daughters. Several years ago, when my oldest daughter was a baby, I decided to try that once. It was a nightmare. But I persevered and did it anyway. Then she QUICKLY outgrew the dress and I wore mine maybe once more. Well, since I have another baby daughter, and my older one is still young enough to not be embarrassed by it, I decided to do the matching thing once more. Kinda like how you forget how painful childbirth is and agree to have another child. This attempt was watered down, though. Baby needed a white dress anyway for an upcoming wedding in the family. I just made very simple sort of matching skirts for myself and my other daughter. Again, it was a nightmare. But here we are. We already had the shirts. Hopefully she and I will get a lot more use out of these skirts than the dresses last time around. Never again! If you ever catch wind that I'm sewing matchies again, please wrestle me to the ground, take away my sewing machine and firmly inform me that it's for my own good.
Most of the crowd at our house for Easter dinner (minus two Swiss friends who were taking the pictures). We had the works! But, gratefully, most of it was prepared elsewhere and arrived with the respective cooks.
The best part was seeing my two engaged sisters in their wedding dresses. Talk about your poof! White tulle and lace everywhere! Sorry Iain and Colin. No pics here. You'll have to wait for the wedding days!
So glad to have Bea and Peter with us. Gotta love that Swiss Easter Bunny. He brings Swiss chocolate! Ooooooooh BABY.

What a fun blog! I guess, like childbirth, I have forgotten how painful it was to make all those matching dresses.... but people used to do it a lot more when you were little. Now nobody even does the "Easter dress" thing anymore -- much less, matching. Anyway, you three looked beautiful! You had to do it once!
And thanks again for a wonderful afternoon and a delicious Easter dinner.
Love you, Mom
My mom made us matching dresses every Easter too! Me and my 3 sisters! Oh yes, we were stylin'! You are a fantastic seamtress though! Good job and way to carry on the tradition!
soon enough... only a few more days yet. :D
