My Dad and Mom. Goin' on a mission. Finally leaving the nest, all grown up. Sniff. I guess we're finished raising them and they are ready to strike out on their own. I'll miss them so much!
So grateful to be able to call these amazing individuals my parents. They're sweet and gushy, but also a lot tougher than that would imply. They've been through a lot together, good and bad, and through the perils of raising 5 daughters, none of whom have served missions themselves (yet!).
Now they're leading out again, giving this wonderful example of faith and fortitude to us and more notably their grandchildren, the oldest of whom, my son, will be facing mission age himself in about three years. Love you two. More than I can say. You'll be a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
Senior missionaries rock!!

How exciting! I am really happy for them and all the blessings you'll all get for them serving. I think I missed my parents more when they were on their missions than I did when I was on mine. It is strange having them gone, especially at family functions--no one is in charge. Anyway, DC will be awesome and hopefully you can visit.
What a great example for all of the grandkids! We lived in DC for four years - it's an amazing place with such strong members. YOu will have to go and visit them!
