My little 4-year-old, my Bugaboo, had surgery today at Primary Children's Hospital. He wasn't able to eat anything, and only drink clear liquids until 11am. Check-in at 12:15. His actual surgery didn't happen until about 3:45! Such a long wait, but, my sweet Bugaboo was so amazing with his Woody in one hand and his Buzz in the other! He would stay right by my side and was so quiet and patient and calm. I hated to watch him walk off, hand-in-hand, with the doctor. So trusting and brave. He had his ear tubes removed and adnoids removed. After the procedure, the doctor told me that when he woke up he would be "mad as a hornet" for about 1/2 hour, then he would calm down. Well, no such thing. He just woke up and was quiet and peaceful. He had a bit of trouble with his oxygen intake, but after another short nap, he woke up doing better.
We had a long, harrowing drive home through a blizzard, and he almost threw up once, but we made it. He hasn't needed/wanted any more pain killers and just ate some applesauce, yogurt, chocolate milk and french toast. He's amazing. I love my sweet Bugaboo so much!!

I'm so glad everything went well for him - and for YOU! It may have been more stressful for you than for him!
I'm so glad everything went so well. He is such a sweet boy.
Phew! I hate watching my kids go through things like that. I love primary children's though! They have helped us through several sticky situations. Glad it is over for you both!
Glad to hear everything went well. I hate that surgery but it so worth it. It was nice to run into you the other night. We really should get the fam's together. Maybe when the weather gets better.
