birthday girl...

Dear 39:
I'm not scared of you. In fact, I'm not even going to ignore you or look the other way when you approach, and if someone asks whether I know you, I'll acknowledge our relationship. Each year that is part of your sum was well-fought and unforgettable. So, yeah, we are suddenly well acquainted. Now, 29, she was scary. Lots of soul searching going on when she was around. But the decade you belong to has been quite the thrill ride. It may sound odd, but I'm actually looking forward to next year and the decade to come. Probably because of what I've learned from you thirty-somethings. So, thank you. You can hang around for awhile, but when it's time to go, I'll be moving on with confidence because I know there is more excitement, adventure and joy to come.
Sincerely, Kristen

Ogden Nash has a poem I love. I'm sharing as it somewhat echos your thoughts. :) http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-lady-who-thinks-she-is-thirty/

I love what you wrote! Hope you had a great birthday!
I watched the TMBG older. I will be honest. I feel older after watching it...;0)
