I received the following email from my Mom today. She is the mother of five, three of whom are adopted. The articles she linked to are a bit long, but so worth it. I've been curious about all of these things, so it's nice to see some of what has been happening.
"Through Meridian Magazine online, I have been following the mission of 125 people from Utah who came together through an email and left last week to help in Haiti. My dermatologist is one of them. The stories I read this morning are so incredible that I hope you will all take the time to read all of them. This is the group who finally orchestrated the adoption of those 144 children from one orphanage who have been in the process of being adopted by American families for the past two or three years. (Only 66 have currently arrived in the US and Utah. They were able to fly them out of Haiti on Friday, and the very next day all adoptions were shut down indefinitely because of a group of Idaho Baptists who tried to sneak 33 kids across the border into the Dominican Republic.)
"I know the joy of finally holding the babies you know were meant to be yours in your arms. I know the power of miracles. But WOW! This story was amazing. The pictures of the most adorable children in these articles and what this group has been able to accomplish with the Lord's help is astounding."
All of the articles are several pages long, so you'll need to click from page to page.
The first article is about the LDS group who went to bring orphans from Haiti to the parents who have been trying to adopt them for years. To read it, click here.
The second article is more about the orphans themselves. To read it, click here.
The third article is about members of the church in Haiti, how they are and what they have been going through. To read it, click here.
It's hard to soak it all in.

Thank you for sharing. This is a wonderful story. I wish there were more coming out of the devastation there.
